It really was.  Best biscuits and gravy ever at "Becky Thatcher's", and of course the cruise was a lot of fun.  We traveled past Jackon's Island, where Huckleberry Finn spent the night with Jim.  Wandered all over the boat.  Had a great time.  John

Yes, exactly like that.  Interesting coincidence, last week we stayed overnight in Hannibal Missouri, ate at the "Becky Thatcher" diner, and took an hour long cruise on a Mississippi riverboat...the Mark Twain.  John

I was invisioning Tom Sawyer or Huck Finn as I read that, or at least how I imagined they were dressed.

Driving home the other day, there's an area where the woods are set back from the road about 30 feet.  Sitting at the edge of the woods was a boy, maybe 12 or 14, with his knees up, watching a small campfire.  He had on bib-overalls, about 6 inches too short, was barefoot, and was wearing a floppy, straw hat.  Sitting next to him watching the fire, was a dog almost as big as he was.  As I looked at it, I almost laughed because it looked for all the world like a living, Norman Rockwell painting.  All he needed was a fishing pole.  John
