I hate that too.  In this area there is so much wildlife, such huge forests and fields, especially corn which deer are crazy about.  Any time I drive out of town, I know I'll see so many animals along the roads.  Deer, possums, skunks, cats, rabbits, sqyirrels, birds and strangely, more armadillos than anything else.  I wish I could say I'd never hit anything but I have and I can never get over it.  There are so many hills and curves and the trees come right up to the roads, stuff can pop right up in front of you..  I have a dash-cam video of a deer running out in front of me last year.  Thankfully, i had just enough time to stop but the video shows how close it was.

I read some research on those deer whistles they put on cars.  Tests at deer farms had the whistles set on posts with air blowing through them.  The tests showed that they had absolutely no effect whatsoever, except for one brand that seemed to make them curious and they were actually attracted to it!  So, no deer whistles here.  John

Sadly this morning I saw a cat on the road. :( I hate that motor vehicles can do to animals. :/

Yup, pet finder replied and said they messed something up and fixed it in the late afternoon. :) It affected all of pet finder and anyone using it.No owls near me that I have ever heard. I am sure there are owls here though. When I am at my mothers home and it is summer I hear the frogs at the lake behind the house, croaking away all night. Took me a while to finally figure out what the noise was (when you hear so many at once)

Seems fine today.  No hiccups at all.

I went to bed around 3:15 AM last night and about 3:45 thunderstorms hit.  I didn't think it was as bad as it was but it really poured down the rain.  There are tree limbs down all over town though, and one business nearby lost a metal roof, so it was worse than I realized.

The night before, Cheri went to bed a few hours before me.  After a couple hours she came out asking "What's that noise?"  I had to laugh.  It was an owl hooting away close by.  I thought it was obvious but she didn't know what it was.  It's a rare treat to hear an owl but they are around.  John

No, that is related to the petfinder calls. I am waiting for their support to respond to my email to see what gives.
