No, I have not gone to the range since early March. Though I am not overly worried about catching COVID, that is also dependant on not going places where I increase the odds. I do want to go, but will wait for now.
I think the big meteor shower was in August but I never seem to catch it. A friend of mine pointed out to me a couple of nights ago that if you looked at the Moon, Mars was on one side of it and Jupiter was on the other. That happened to be the only night where we could even see the Moon!
Piggy still amazes me as to how much he eats and just to make things even more interesting, he has figured out that whenever Cheri opens the refrigerator door, which is out of his sight, he's likely to get a strawberry or a carrot and he'll start squeaking like crazy. We also keep his hay in a box and he's figured out that the sound of that box opening means he's getting more hay. His squeaking is not quite as enthusiastic for the hay but he sure tears into it when you put a bunch in the cage. We haven't yet figured out how to feed him hay without getting it all over the place but I'm working on it. We don't have any set feeding schedule, we just make sure he always has hay, and he'll get strawberries or carrots 2 or 3 times a day.
Van Gogh is still doing great. She's getting plenty of exercise chasing crickets around the house. This seems to be the year of the cricket. It's not like we're overwhelmed with them but you always see one or 2 a day. Cheri hollered at me the other day bcause I didn't make the bed when I got up. Last one out of bed, (which is always me) is supposed to make the bed. But as I explained to her hat morning, that would be the cat. If she's up when I get up, I make it. If she stays in bed when I get up, I do it later.
Last night about 12:30 AM, cold and rainy as it was, we heard a bunch of fireworks going off. The guinea pig and the cat both looked at us, apparently waiting for an explanation, but we just didn't have one. It reminded me of when I used to go target shooting with my Dad, and made me wonder if you're getting any shooting in with the virus going on. John
Are we entering a meteor shower? Yesterday on the way in to work I had a nice clear view of Mars. As I drove it was directly ahead of me, then a meteor arc'd right next to it, with a long trail.
Well, they changed the weather a bit. Now up to 20 inches snow is expected starting this afternoon. And me without my studded tires on yet. Oh well. At least it will be in the upper 40's next week.
