The outside cam may look foggy, but that is smoke from fires all over the state and north west.
Yesterday I was pulling some weeds and took my camera in my pack. Just playing a bit. This part of a tree with full zoom on (it was not close):
This is a closeup of a little weed or flower. The flower part is smaller than a dime.
I also noticed helicopters flying with water buckets from town area (airport) to the northwest. I managed to pull the camera out to snap a picture before the last was gone. Sadly on the zoon I did not catch the bucket, but you can see the cable trailing behind the helicopter holding it.
I checked the local news later. Seems a fire started off Wolf Creek (25 or so miles away) and they has to close the interstate because it was JUST off it. That was where the choppers were going.
Lastly, 2 shots of the lovely smokey sunrise atbout 6am today...

That's incredible. Here, it's still rain, rain, rain. I keep thinking about out west where there are all the droughts, and how rainy it is here. We had 2 weeks of rain every day, then a few dry days, and now, almost another week of rain. No thunderstorms, just rain. John
I went for a wlk over my lunch today and one of those big water scooping planes took off from Helena and turned right over me, about 1000' feet up I would say. LOUD. It flew off due east (I assume to sime fire and lake). I wish I had my camera with me!
I finally got some images of the fire helicopters WITH the buckets. These were from yesterday about 5pm.
Opps, forgot one....
Kind of surprising how low those buckets hang. Still amazed at the shutter speed on your camera. John
