There hadn't been much evidence of my mole this year until the last couple of weeks. In the last 2 weeks though, he's really gone nuts in the yard. Huge chunks of the yard are all spongy and there are big mounds of dirt here and there. I mow the yard with a push mower, which can take 4 or 5 hours, and mowing it with my mole softening the ground makes it feel like I'm mowing a mattress. It adds considerably to the work, but that's OK. Long as he's having a good time, and he seems to be having a ball down there. John
Just ONE mole does all that?

Well, I don't really know if it's just one. I've never seen it, but it does tend to concentrate on certain areas. One year it went along the south side of the house, in just one straight line. One year he concentrated on the northwest quarter of the yard. This year he's concentrating in pretty much the center. No bigger than they get, it's amazing how much dirt he can displace. I'm not sure what he's really capable of but he can easily travel 30 or 40 feet in a night. Oddly, he (or they) never move during the day, only at night. John
I hope it is more than one mole, or you have a very active and fast working SUPER mole!
Yesterday I noticed that he had dug along the south side of the house again, but I wouldn't have noticed except that I could see that something had tried to dig him out. No doubt one of the several neighborhood cats. There's no evidence that the cat succeeded but I have seen it happen. John
We have mice around the house again. TIme I set up live traps to relocate them far far far away.
