I hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving!
David and the CoolCyberCats
Our Thanksgiving was only 5 or 6 blocks away at Cheri's mother's house. Everybody brought food and it was all very good. I was pretty lucky with Cheri's family. She has the sweetest Mom I could ever hope for and everybody there was as nice as they could be. I miss having Thanksgiving with my family though. Of course, there's hardly anybody left aside from my brother and his kids and grandkids. Just a few days ago my younger brother became a great-grandfather. I hate to admit it but I can't keep track of how many grandkids he's got now. 3 kids, X number of grandkids, and one great-grandkid. I'm thinking of having next Thanksgiving with them. I'll try to make a head count. John
How is CHeri?
Oh, I believe that the "great" needs to be earned, otherwise you are simply a mediocer grandfather at best! Is he a great grandfather? ;) (laugh)
Oh, I suppose there are great grandfathers, mediocre grandfathers, OK grandfathers. etc. He must be a great father, as he raised 3 kids that are all jaw-droppingly wonderful kids. I swear, they're all decent and apparently happy people. You never see them without a smile on their face. One of the girls comes out on occasion and sings with the band. I don't see the grandkids so much but as happy as the parents are, I expect they are too.
Of course, I never had kids. (Never really wanted kids) because I know what a massive responsibility they are. You know how I love being a grandfather though. I can have all the fun of being a grandfather with minimal responsibility. I have a grandkid without having had kids. As I told Cheri, I skipped the hard part. John
