Christmas

Merry Christmas to everybody out there.  We had our Christmas with the grandkids last night so they could have it with their parents today.  Everybody got exactly what they asked for and a ton of other stuff besides.

Was odd weather for Christmas.  71 degrees Christmas Eve and I think it was about 54 in Chicago.

Van Gogh broke a small lamp in the middle of the night last night.  It was on a small table on Cheri's side of the bed.  Cheri was not amused.  I didn't even know it existed!  John

Merry Christmas John! Glad everyone got what they wanted!

I have been mostly in my bedroom since I got home. My PRC COVID test in NJ was negative but I was still sick and I came home with a cloth mask covered with an N95 mask to keep people from getting my cold. Donna wanted me to take another PRC Covid test so I had another the hostpital here and was again negative. I took a home rapid test today and was negative again and I am no longer feeling sick. So I never had it, had a cold and life continues here. I am amazed at the temp there! We just had a cold front swing in and as I write this it is 0 out and the next 2 days will have HIGHS of 2f.

I could see the snow on the mountain-cam.  It was just crazy warm here.  Right now it's 51 and should go up to 59 with rain.

Watched Christmas movies about all day.  Several channels carried one movie all day.  "It's A Wonderful Life" was on one, "White Christmas" was on another, "A Christmas Story" was on one, and "A Christmas Carol" was on another.  At the same time, my brother's internet channel broadcast Christmas movies all day.  I like his channel because you can chat with the other viewers while you watch the movies.  It's online 24/7, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  I was online chatting with people until 4:00 AM.  John

It has been a while since I watch It's a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Story. I do not think I ever watch all of White Christmas.

Wow, you were up late? Don't you ever sleep? ;)

It was about -10f on the way to work this morning. Brrrr.

3 or 4:00 AM is about normal for me.  I've always been a natural nightowl.  Besides coming by it naturally, I often get back from Kansas City at 4 or 5:00 AM and I don't want to be sleepy after working all night then making that hour and a half drive.  As it is, I have to push myself to get to bed at 3 or 4:00 AM.

The first Christmas movie I saw this year was "It's A Wonderful Life".  It was the first week of December.  I was playing in a bar in Warrensburg and it was on television.  I couldn't hear it but I could see it.  I pretty much knew every word anyway.  I'd always said the only thing I don't like about musicals was the music.  "White Christmas" was one of those.  The title song was great but the rest...like "What Can You Do With A General"...Otherwise, Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye were a lot of fun in it.  My favorite line in the movie:  "OK, she didn't go to college.  She didn't go to Smith."  "Go to Smith?  She couldn't even spell it!"

If it was 10 below here, I wouldn't even go to work.  Well, I would because I'd have to but if I didn't have to I sure wouldn't.  Right now it's 51.  Tuesday it's supposed to be 67.  I sure can't complain about it but it does make me think.  If it's almost 40 degrees above normal now, what would it be like if it hits 40 degrees above normal in the Summer?

I was on Lichess last night and I was going to take a look at your old games but I couldn't remember your Lichess name!  John
