Hey everybody! I'm so glad to hear Claire is doing better!
I do have to work tonight. In 50 years I can probably count the number of New Year's Eves I've missed on one hand, usually canceled for weather. Last year, freezing rain started before we even got torn down and the ride home was crazy. An hour's drive took an hour and a half. This year, the weather's just been nuts. You can usually count on New Year's Eve getting down around zero. This year, the high is supposed to be 59 today and 30 tonight. But...tonight we get freezing rain, snow tomorrow, and down to 9 tomorrow night. The freezing rain isn't supposed to hit until a couple of hours after we're done so if I'm lucky, I may beat it home.
I imagine the fireworks will start up tonight. (They did on Christmas.) Thankfully I'll miss that. Never quite understood the idea of celebrating anything good by blowing something up.
I do wish I could just sit back and play on the computer tonight but I'd feel weird if I missed a New Year's Eve working somewhere and I can't sneeze at the money. Hope everybody has a great night! John
