Cheri spent a good 3 days shopping for a new mattress. She finally settled on one. Not the most expensive and not the cheapest. So I spent one afternoon lugging old mattresses out, loading and unloading then dragging in new mattresses. That was enough work for one day.
Once the new mattresses were on the bed, it's too bad no one was there to get a picture, as the look on our faces was probably priceless. The bed stands 36 or 37 inches off the ground. That probably doesn't sound like much but you can't just sit down on it. You have to jump up or roll onto it. If I sit on the edge, my feet dangle a good 12 inches off the floor. At least we were able to laugh about it.
So, we spent another afternoon looking for a step for her to step up to it, because I figure there will be days when she might not feel like climbing into it. We haven't quite figured out what to use.
Anyway, it seems comfortable enough. I figured it wouldn't really matter to me, as long as she's comfortable in it, and I think she is. I know lugging it through the house the thing weighed a ton, but when we actually got them on the bed, our eyes and mouths must have been wide open, and we're still laughing about it. Incidentally, Van Gogh has no problem with it and last night for the first time in 4 days, she slept in my face again. John
