Happy birthday Beany, wherever you are!

It used to be that Van Gogh used to sleep in my face during the winter but never during the summer.  Now, she sleeps in my face every night.  She lays her head on my arm and puts her paws against my chest, usually tangled in my beard, then sleeps for 20 or 30 minutes, then gets up and goes away.  I usually go to sleep during this time then wake up after she's gone.  Only one other cat used to sleep in my face like that, Socks.  Socks and I had an unusually close relationship.  The only thing about Socks was, when he'd yawn in my face, it was really awful and I used to try to synchronize my breathing with his.  Poof used to sleep on my hip or between us.  Jackson Galaxy says it's because she loves me and trusts me and feels safe with me.  I hope so.    John

APollo likes to sleep ON my chest, which gets a bit annoying at night. It prevents me moving and if I am awake and wat to see tv or read, I can't because I cannot move or moving will make him fall off (and his balance is not what it used to be now). :/

Even with Van Gogh, if I have to move or roll over, I do it very slowly and try to bother her as little as possible.  Sometimes I'll lay there till my shoulder aches before I'll finally move.  There's no way I can sleep with a television because it starts intruding on my dreams, and Cheri loves to watch these crime shows where people get murdered and end up in jail.  One bad dream about that stuff was all that took.  If I read while I'm sleepy I can read a whole paragraph and not have any idea what I just read.  Instead, I'll watch television or videos all evening, then shut everything down and go to bed.  Usually when I go to bed, Piggy will be up eating hay and Van Gogh will be on a corner of the bed waiting for me.  John
