Cheri bought me this beautiful chess set at a yard sale.  It must have been insanely expensive when it was brand new and you can't tell anybody has ever used it, but there's something wrong.  Can you spot the flaw?

The pawn, though you could argure the king and wueen tops, but I think that only as how the crows look, so not really a flaw. :) With this set, does not black now have an unfair advantage? ;)

You both get a cookie!  One too many black Pawns and one too few white.  Beautiful, heavily weighted wood pieces and a really elaborate board/case, but it does drive me a little crazy.  After I play online, I go over the game on a real board to see what I did wrong, (and there's usually plenty of blunders) so as soon as any white Pawn is taken, I replace the black one.  I switch out sets about once a month because I do have some other really nice ones.  I still try to play just about every day beause I'm a pretty slow player and while I'm playing I can't worry about anything else.

The furkids are all fine.  I trimmed some of Piggy's toenails yesterday.  They start curling backward and make it hard for him to walk if I don't.  I'm always terrified of cutting one too short but I haven't so far.  I probably don't cut them as short as I should.  Cheri has to hold him while I do it and it's hard because he's a real wiggler.  He's a lot more work than the cat.  John

If you picked me up and started trimming my toe nails, I would wiggle a lot too!

Piggy will hold perfectly still for a few seconds then just as I'm about ready to cut, he'll wiggle.  I really hate doing that.  With the cat, I change her water every day, give her a cup of food about every other day, and clean the litter box once a day.  Piggy needs his maanger of hay filled about every day, which is hard to do without getting hay all over.  He needs a "salad" about twice a day, consisting of a strawberry, a few inches of celery, a handful of spinach, a chunk of carrot, and when we have it, a piece of watermelon or pineapple.  Then about every 2 weeks I have to clean his cage.  There's a depression in the yard that I throw the old bedding in.  The bedding is ground up brown paper that's pressed into a 15 inch by 8 inch brick, so I have to break that all up, which takes some time, and refill his water bottle.  Yeah, he's a lot more work than the cat.
