Sorry I was totally quiet this week. I am actually in NJ now and ar rhte airport to fly home as I type. Came out to do estate stuff for 3 days and moms funeral was yesterday. I had to stop at the West Point git shop since it may well be my last West Point visit and I wanted some tee shirts and sweatshirts and a west point sweatpants for my gym in the mornings. Being there after so long brought back a lot of memories of going to Army football games growing up.

It was nice seeing my family and cousins also. I love my sisters, but of course there were estate disagreements as you always hear people have. Now I have more estate work to do over the coming months (sigh). It can be a lot of work and take a lot of time to finish. My first and hpefully only time doing this.

Anyway, I hope you all had a good week and a fun holiday weekend!

I wondered if you might be tied up in all that stuff.  Not a fun way to spend your weekend.  When Mom died she had everything taken care of and there was nothing to do.  When Dad died, nothing was done.  Years later, his property still sits waiting to be settled.  He abhorred debt and the only claim against it might be from the electric company, but there it sits.  John

Cheri wanted to go out to dinner Friday but was worried about the tourist traffic headed to the Lake.  I figured it would be terrible headed south but not so bad headed north.  Was I right or what?  The cars in this picture may be headed south, but they're not moving.  John

I sincerely hope nothing comes of the Covid.  I know a few people who had it and I can only think of a couple who died.  One had a pre-existing lung problem.  Nobody in this area even thinks about it anymore.  Nursing homes aren't allowing visitors right now, and hospitals insist you wear masks but other than that, there's no sign it ever existed.

The traffic I showed in that picture should be headed in the opposite direction this afternoon.  It's mostly traffic from Kansas City to the Lake Of The Ozarks and back.  It really does gum up the highways.

Somebody stole 3 bulldogs from an animal shelter in Kansas City.  You just never hear about something like that happening.  A couple of years ago they built a new animal shelter here in Sedalia.  It's a big, nice looking place, much nicer than the old one.  It's apparently all solar powered.  It really is full though.

I found a place just 30 miles away that makes the most beautiful wood chess sets.  Apparently they produce quite a few and sell them over Etsy.  I've got my eye on a maple and walnut set but it's pretty expensive and I really should forget about it.  (We'll see.)

The furkids are all doing great.  So are Cheri and the grandkids.  Cheri has a surgery scheduled for November.  I'll be so glad when she's past all this.  John

Cheri has been in my prayers every day for a long time. :) I'll make sure to add the surgery now.

John, what cell phone type do you have? Apple or Android?

I am going in to the office tomorrow. I still feel crappy, but I can work and since I am the onlhy one in the building. ;)
