I usually fold it up the minute I get off it but sometimes she's on it within seconds. It's hard to tell from the picture but it's on an incline and she just rolls all over it. It's hard to find a non-electric treadmill these days but I figured I needed the exercise more than the electric company. It does have batteries for a digital readout and I can set it to show my speed, distance, or calories burned, (which must be grossly inaccurate) and I just set it to show distance. Every so often I have to squirt a little silicon lubricant into it or it starts getting jerky. John
