I came down with it hard yesterday.  I started feeling it the night we got back from the hospital so I think it was too soon to have got it from there.  Cheri's grandson on the other hand, was sick a few days before so he's the prime suspect.  I can't even figure out whether I'm hot or cold.  No appetite.  Yesterday I ate 2 glazed doughnuts, one when I got up and the other when I went to bed, and I really wasn't hungry for them.

Been sweating a lot, nose leaking like a screen door on a submarine, bad coughing and sneezing.  Yesterday I had mild stomach cramps, which worried me because I had to play last night and I didn't want to end up with diarrhea in a strange public place.  Turned out not to be a problem, thankfully.  Leaving home, we saw Feather.  He disappears a few days at a time and I was glad to see him.

Playing last night was dicey with no energy and all the cold symptoms.  Their air conditioning was freezing and their fans were blowing at everybody.  With me sweating so much half the night, I had to wonder, what is this doing to me?  It rained hard while we played, (indoors thankfully) but that meant that afterward was like breathing underwater and it drizzled or rained the whole hour and a half back home.  Saw at least a half a dozen deer who had just crossed the highway ahead of us.  Always a concern in this area.  I wouldn't have thought they'd be moving in the rain like that.

Anyway, I lived through it all and this morning I actually feel a little better, which makes absolutely no sense at all.  John

Feeling about the same today as I did yesterday so I think the cold has settled in, probably for weeks.  It's the first time I've been sick in years and that's how it usually works.  I go a long time, then when I get sick, I stay sick for weeks.  I've got way too many things to do, get the car worked on, see a dentist, mow the yard, run around paying bills, and of course, keep working through it all.  I need about a month to just hibernate and I won't get it.

I saw Perseus on the couch this morning, which is always a treat.

On the news the other day, they sighted a bear near Pleasant Hill, just southeast of Kansas City.  I knew there were a few in southern Missouri but this is the farthest north they've seen one in well over a century.  Pleasant Hill is straight west of me.  John

You ate donuts? Crackers and clear soup!

And you played while sick? John, do you really want to get over it? ;)

LOL I know doughnuts were not the healthiest choice, but they were there and that kind is only good for a day.  I didn't even want them but they wouldn't be any good later.  I actually considered crackers and chicken-noodle soup, but I really just didn't want anything.  Yesterday was the same.  Cheri wanted me to take her out to eat.  I never say no, so we went to one of my favorite places.  Still not the least bit hungry I just managed to push down one pancake.  In 3 days I just ate 2 doughnuts and one pancake, and I'm still not hungry today.  Just don't want anything, though I do drink a little orange juice every morning.

I seriously hated going out to play Saturday but if I don't work, nobody works, and the bar has nobody to replace you with on short notice.  I can't see costing everybody that much money.  In 52 years, (including the years I worked 6 nights a week) I've only missed 2 nights working, and those times were because I was afraid I was going to whorf on stage, and noooobody wants to see that.  John
