It's been a while since I've seen them but about 4 blocks north of me is an open field covering maybe 2 square blocks where we on rare occasion see deer, and lately a few foxes.  Yesterday I was driving into town and saw 2 deer standing there just grazing alongside a tree line.  My street makes a little jog right there so when I come up on that field, I can stop and look directly at it.  Such a beautiful sight!  John

You reminded me, this morning a small fox (I am guessing very young) was on the road as I came by and it just watched the suv go by rather than running off. Odd. It was on the other lane. Size of a small cat, but huge ears and foc bushy tail.

Always worries me when animals aren't concerned with cars.  Especially deer.  Driving home at all hours of the night I'm always seeing deer right beside the road.

I read about a test a while back, they did with those "deer whistles" you put on your car.  They mounted them on posts in a deer park and blew air through them.  Mostly, the deer ignored them but often, they'd gather around to see what all the racket was about.  Yeah.  They don't work.  John
