We left for a short vacation, just a few days, to Branson, and I'm beat.  Up too early, then hours on the road, and I'm really tired.  Tomorrow we take Karly to the Titanic museum.  She's a Titanic fanatic since she saw the movie and she's been looking forward to it for a long, long time.  I always love showing her new things, like the first time we took her to the ocean.  Things I don't think she'll ever forget.  John

I did not know there was a Titanic museum there. I thought there is one in Las Vegas, but that was the only one I know of. How big is this one?

Takes a couple hours to get through it.  The building is shaped like the front half of the Titanic and there are 2 levels that you use the "grand staircase" to get up and down.  I'd already been through it maybe 15 years ago or so, but Karly was crazy to see it.  I bought her a necklace, (like the one that caused so much trouble in the movie) and her brother a Titanic blanket.  Cheri didn't feel like going through it, so it cost me and the 2 kids $73.  My favorite part, still the deck chair that people are forever metaphorically rearranging.  John

Sometime Wednesday we got word that the water main to the motel was broken and they had to shut it off.  The parking lot right in front us was bubbling up water and you could clearly see it was getting worse by the hour.  The people who owned the motel also owned the much larger one next door, so we were all shuffled over to that one.  Problem.  Our room was so far from the main office, no internet.  Everyone was really nice about everything and I hope I was too, but I did make it clear that I wasn't happy about that.  Every day I visit the Cool Cyber Cats, FaceBook, watch videos on physics, history and chess, play chess, and stay in contact with friends and the band, all through the internet.  So for 2 nights I'm pretty much twiddling my thumbs, although I did get a lot of reading done.  (I knew enough to bring a book.)

We had planned to come back Thursday but Cheri decided she wanted to stay an extra night.  So, we left Friday morning about 10:30.  Cheri's grandson had done a good job taking care of the animals, which I think was my biggest concern.  Van Gogh gave me a look like she was so happy to see me back.  I'm sure I gave her the same look.  John

It is always nice to return home after a trip, least I think so. :)

Oh yeah.  I have an established daily routine and it was hard deviating from that.  Now I'm back and as John Steinbeck put it, the world is spinning on greased grooves.  John
