Back to Kansas City last night.  The weather was cold and wet, around freezing, but the place was so busy they went to a neighboring business to borrow tables and chairs.  I was surprised but not as surprised as last week.  Last week we played at a biker bar and the temperature was zero so of course, no bikes.  But lots and lots of pickup trucks.  It was packed that night too, which surprised me because it was so cold.  When we were all packed up I sat in the car waiting for it to warm up and the car said it was 1 degree.  I was only there because I got paid for it.  All those other people though, were there for fun.  I remembered thinking though, yeah, when I was maybe 19 or 20 I used to go out on nights like that just to party, but certainly not now!  John

Hi John! Lucky you to be in Kansas City the day before my Chiefs won their game against the Ravens. Now on their way to the Super Bowl!

How is Cheri doing?  Peggy

Cheri has to be at the doctor in Columbia tomorrow at what is essentially the middle of the night for me.  She's up and down a lot but actually went with me to Kansas City Saturday.

Everybody around here is of course, nuts about the Chiefs, especially since they've done so well for so many years.  That game they played a couple weeks ago when it was -4 degrees was just crazy.  They were giving away cardboard for people to put under their feet to help keep their feet warmer.  They showed one guy taking out a big bottle of water and you could actually see it freezing in just a few seconds.  (I was playing up there that night too when my car said it was 1 degree.)

One neighbor has a cannon and of course, it went off last night about a minute after the game ended.  He sets it off whenever the Chiefs win, for New Year's Eve, July 4th, and anything else he's apparently happy about.  (It's not that close so it's not too loud but I can always hear it.)

Myself, I'm just pretty worn down.  Too worried about too much for too long.  But I keep pushing through it because that's all you can really do.  I just keep gritting my teeth.  Or at least I will till I get this root canal!  John

Glad to hear Cheri was able to get out and go to Kansas City with you. I bet it did a world of good for her.

Best of luck with your rioot canal. I've had a few of those, and they are not fun.

Hope nothing gets destroyed when your neighbor shoots off that canon. That is just too funny! Peggy

LOL I'm not exactly sure where that cannon is except that it's somewhere southeast of me, so it's evidently out in the country.  Sounds like a monster though.

Dentist called yesterday while I was doing dishes and said he had a cancellation, so I went in yesterday.  Hurt like hell but only for a few seconds.  Even so, I have to go back next week to get a post put in.  I wonder what that will be like.

Took Cheri to the doctors in Columbia this morning, (meaning just a couple hours sleep).  She had 2 appointments.  One was for a CAT scan that we could have done here about 5 blocks away.  The other got cancelled and they forgot to call her.  So, 80 miles for something we could have done 5 blocks away.  I was terrified of what they might say, and now I still don't know.  I know just enough about it to be worried.

I'm not sure Cheri really felt like going to Kansas City but I'm sure she did it just for me.  Was nice having her back out.  John

That's terrible that the doctors office did not call you about the cancellation. I hope you gave them hell considering how far you had to come. So did you end up having the scan done at the place 5 miles away? Peggy
