Thanks David. We went out to birthday dinner the day before and yesterday Cheri bought us a big cake. Otherwise it was a normal day, which was just fine with me. (Except I lost my chess game last night which I was not happy about.)
Between different hospitals, different doctors, conflicting and sometimes contradictory information, yeah, it can be maddening. That's not to mention one of her doctors retiring and another moving away, and none of them ever seem to communicate. She got a PET scan a few days ago and just got a call wanting her to schedule one. How do they not know she just had one? And how do they not know the results?
At this point we don't know what's going on for sure, and sometimes I know more than the doctors! The colon cancer is apparently gone, although they won't consider it truly gone for 5 years because that kind usually comes back, so they want to keep an eye on it. The cancer on her kidney has alternately been described as small and massive, then small again. It was alternately described as being non-cancerous then cancerous. At this point they describe it as small and if it's growing at all, it's so slow they're not worried about it. Now there may, or may not be a cancer on her adrenal gland. We don't know. If there is, that's really bad news because cancer there is usually lethal within a few years. I hope not! John
