Flears! ICK! I remember them from Illinios. It is too cold in Montana for them, so unless they are brought to a home in a move, none here, thank goodness!

We had snow this morning! So no mow for mw. :)

Medicare question, I am not retired yet, but is there a point you are FORCED into getting it by some age? I am in retirement age range now, but I don't plan to retiring. Just wondering if at some point I am forced to deal with Medicare.

I know a lot of people who mow their yard all the time.  I figure they're just bored and like doing it.  I've never been that bored.  I still do mine with a push mower and it takes hours.  3 to 5 hours depending on how thick the grass is.  Missouri is like Disneyworld for fleas.  I'm amazed that I have so little trouble with them but I've had them before, and I've learned every trick in the book to get rid of them.

David, I'm not aure about the Medicare question.  I retired as soon as I possible could and when I turned 65 they just automatically started sucking it out of my Social Security.  I was shocked when they sucked out such a huge chunk, and there's not much it really covers.

I figured when I retired I'd show all these semi-retired people how well I could do nothing at all, but that didn't work out.  Social Security wouldn't cover half my bills so, I'm still working.  I admit I had mixed feelings about it though.  When I quit for about 10 months I'd still run into people who'd tell me "You are..." and it occurred to me that eventually they'd start saying, "You were", and that thought horrified me.  So, to pay the bills and still have some reason to exist, I went back to work.  Still, I think I could do nothing as well as anybody.  John

5 hours to mow? How many acres do you have? You need a little riding mower. Funny, I remember when I was a kid my dad bought our first riding mower, some tiny sears mower, and it was tiny, but worked well. Before that we had an electric (power cord) push mover and that yeard had hills i the back. The yellow extension cords were repaired so many times because of someone running it over with the mower.

When I was in Illinios, I got fleas in the house once. I freaked. Bombed the house and made Hamlet and Itchy wear flea stuff for a bit. I am sure I got them from a neighbor who had a lot of kitties, but you never know.

I don't know if/when I'll retire. I like the work and I'll likely need the money to live, thanks to how much our country prints the greenbacks.
