Storms

Big line of storms blew through last night.  I knew they were coming.  Everybody else was in bed but about midnight I went out to sit on the porch and watch the light show coming from the southwest.  About 10 minutes later the tornado sirens started going off so, I came inside and checked the radar.  The winds were about 45 miles an hour so it really didn't hurt anything.  Some lightning, at least one strike was pretty close.  Really heavy rain, but the whole thing blew through in probably an hour.

The sirens of course, woke everybody up, but not for long.  I finally went to bed about 3:30, (normal for me) but then about 4:30 I was awakened when the electricity went out.  One of the clocks makes a beeping noise when that happens.  It was hours after the storm had passed.  A lot of people lost electricity during the storms but we never did.  I've got to go to town to take one of the kids to the dentist this morning so I'll see if there was any damage in town.  Now I have to go all through the house resetting all the electric clocks.  John

The weather front has been passing though here since yesterday. We had winds up to 50-60mph and it is still really windy. Lucky that is all, not tornadoes, hail or storms. Just nasty winds nonstop.

Nothing happened here at all, just really heavy rain.  A couple of towns up by Kansas City got hit with tornadoes but the damage was relatively limited.  Yesterday was pretty nice so it was lawn mowing day.  Today, more heavy rains but nothing else.  A lot of nearby roads and highways are flooded over but I don't have to be anywhere till Saturday.  We're up on high ground so there won't be any flooding here.

I had to play outdoors Saturday and it was COLD.  The wind was blowing across the Lake and over 4 hours it just got colder and colder.  I could hardly move my fingers.  I'm outdoors again this Saturday.  I hate outdoor jobs.  It's either too hot or too cold, or it wants to rain on you, and there are always too many bugs.  John

The snow here made a muddy mess and my suv is so covered I cannot see out the drivers side windows now. :/ But we will warm up now. 58f today high and 70's Friday and Saturday and we may just hit 80 on Sunday.

I think I prefer a perfect 70 all day all year and 40's at night. THen I would not need air conditioning and very minimal heat.

That sounds about right, except I'd like it a little warmer at night.  My problem is almost opposite to yours.  The only time my car gets clean is when it rains!  There's been a lot of flooding around the last few days but I haven't had to go anywhere in the last 5 days, except downtown.  John
