I gotta ask if you are all following the Russian war ships and sub sent to Cuba and how we are shadowing them with 3 ships and just put a hunter sub at Guantanamo? It is getting tense to me, not that I am paniced, I just don't like this and don't get why the news is ignoring this.

David, this is total news to me. I did Google it and read up as to why they are supposedly there. A little too close to home in my opinion. I just don't trust them. Surprised the news is ignoring this as they seem to report all other kinds of crap. Peggy

Putin did this after Biden gave permission for Ukraine to use US planes and weapons directly. THey were supplied planes from I think Turkey or Poland and last week Ukrain attacked (successfully) Russia internally with our weapons and planes. WHile I think Putin is a nut job, I liken it to - Imagine China supplied Mexico with weapons and planes and then told tem they can use them on us and Mexico attacked some town in Texas. The US would blame it on China. Well, Putin blamed us for the attacks and Biden doubled down on allow the attacks. I do not know where people here sit politically, but I watch left and right news and try to keep up on things. BOTH sides are rather quiet on this all right now and it bothers me a lot. But Biden screwed up greatly. And I dislike having a Russian war flotilla and Nuke attack sub so close. I was unhappy seeing all the videos on social media showing our navy planes and choppers skirting the beaches on the way to florida and I was really unhappy with us needing to place a hunter sub in Guantanamo. I also think there is a Canadian watr ship with our fleet shadowing the Russians. THen when Russia began the war exercises 20 to 60 miles off our coast firing missles and guns, I was more concerned. I read they think at least 1 ship has hypersonic missles on it and the sub they have is one of their largest attack class subs with nukes. I do not understand why this is not being shown on the media and why Washington is playing chicken with putin like this.

I've just heard a very little about it.  As complicated as it all could be, I wouldn't want to go too deeply into it, but to take the analogy a little further, if we had attacked Mexico and currently sat on a third of its territory, I could hardly blame Mexico for asking someone else for help, and I couldn't blame them for providing it, and I could hardly blame Mexico for retaliating to the best of their ability.  As far as it goes, everybody has submarines and warships everywhere all the time, and they probably get a lot closer than Cuba.  I figure if I were Russia, I'd be doing all kinds of sabre rattling in hopes of scaring the United States out of helping Ukraine.  We've known since 1938 though, that if you give a bully what he wants, he'll always want more.  John

I fully understand why Putin did this, abd I also am not a supporter of fundinf Ukraine or giving them planes and weapons. I lean more to an isolationist.
