Hi David John and Peggy Well Thackery Binx has decided that he does not like me. But that is ok I waited 5 years for Joy to tolerate me so I will wait on him too. But he eats well and uses the box. Hope everybody is ok and what about the fire David is it under control or put out yet? it will not come closer to your house I hope. Nothing else happening here mowed the grass saturday wasn't bad didn't hardly need mowing but it had been 2 and 1/2 weeks since I had mowed it is very hot mid 90's and higher heat index over 100 I started at 930 am and was done at 130 pm took lots of breaks to drink water. We need a soaking 2 or 3 day rain but not really in the forecast. How is Cheri John? and happy gotcha birthday Piggy. Hope you are doing good  in your recovery and getting better all the time Peggy.Y'all take care Later Tim

It took a long time for Van Gogh to like me too.  Now she sleeps in my face every night.  Cheri had a bit of a scare yesterday but all seems better today.  We're heading to the doctor in Columbia tomorrow for an already scheduled checkup.  Here, it's been raining every couple of days, then in the 90s every day so the grass is growing like a rainforest.  There's one place in the yard I can't mow because it's rained so much, there's water standing that just won't dry out.  I'd lots rather see too much rain though, than a drought.  John

Hi Tim,

It sometimes takes patience. :) It took ^Itchy^ many years to trust me enough to sleep on my bed or let me touch him.

The fire last I heard was still 0% contained and as of Sunday had ballooned to about 13,000 acres. This is a photo from it in the paper.

The temps and our usual dryness is not helpful to get it out I assume. It has been hovering about 96 to 101 here last week and so far this week. But it is not moving towards town and canyon ferry (large lake) is in the way, so no worries now.

Hope all checks out at the doctor tomorrow John. And send some of that rain out way. ;) I forgot to mention in my other message, we are cloudless but overcast (smoke).

One more, here is a video from the news showing the fire area and suppression efforts.

A woman pilot lost her life a week ago when her plane crashed while she was working the fire.

Fire suppression efforts, lake seen is Canyon Ferry. <- click on text to go to video.

These planes and helicopters are constantly flying around Helena now.

Tim, don't give up on Thackeray Binx yet. I know you will win him over in time.
We had a horrible evening, storms and tornadoes last night. Seven actual touchdowns so far and the closest one to me was spotted over by O'Hare airport. Haven't heard anything about that one yet. Needless to say I was scared to death and my heart was pounding. A couple of us neighbors were going to go down to the underground parking garage, but we were all in our PJs so we just waited it out thankfully it was a pretty fast moving storm however I would take the storms over your fires David.
