An hour and a half up there, an hour waiting, then he talked to her for maybe 2 minutes.  I knew this would be all talk, but I didn't get to talk to him because I had the granddaughter with me in the waiting room.  Not sure when we're supposed to go back but it should be for a more serious checkup.  So far, so good.

Since we had the granddaughter we went to the mall afterward where Cheri took her all over the place shopping.  I went to Barnes and Noble where I should never go because I just spend money there.  And I did.  Most of the time, as in the hospital, I just spent waiting.

This afternoon she's in the hospital waiting room here in town because her son went into a diabetic seizure at work.  We spend a lot of time in those waiting rooms.  I missed out on this visit because I was still asleep.  I have to play Kansas City tonight so I wouldn't have a lot of time to spend there anyway.  John

Yesterday was the day of the animals.  I don't sit out on the porch very often and when I do it's probably never more than 10 minutes or so.  Yesterday I went out for a few minutes and happened to look to the west where a neighbor was out mowing his yard and happened to see 2 deer, galloping out of the woods, crossing the street and running just beyond the neighbor on his lawn mower.  They weren't the same 2 deer I saw a few days ago.  These were bigger.  It was hours before sundown but they were running in toward town, away from the woods.  Actually, I think they're probably safer in town than they are in the nearby woods where some bloodthirsty hillbilly is liable to take a shot at them.

Then late last night I noticed that somebody had left the back porch light on and as I went to turn it off, I noticed a raccoon wandering around the driveway.  He must have seen me through the back door window, as he scampered under my car.  Cheri had thrown away a bag of stale french fries and I'd have thrown them out in the yard today anyway, but I went ahead and took them out and dumped them in the driveway.  Hope he enjoyed them.  If not, I'm sure the birds will.  John
