Hi John, how are you and Cheri doing?

Is it hot there?

It's been unusually cool here, (70s) this past week.  Supposed to get back in the 90s this weekend though.  Between working the Fair, down on the Lake and up in Kansas City, then all the rain this past couple of weeks, I had to hire the yard mowed.  I was so exhausted and the grass had gotten so tall, I didn't think I could get the whole thing done in a day, so I relented and paid somebody to do it.  Did a really good job too.

Karly is back with us and going to school, which puts a lot of extra work on Cheri.  I can't stay up late enough or get up early enough to take her to school, and her new school is too close for her to ride the bus, and a bit far to walk.  I rode with Cheri today to pick her up, and was amazed and pleased at the security involved in just picking her up.  With all the insanity that's gone on the last few years, I worry every day about what could happen, and while security was heavy when they got out of school, I have no idea how tight it is during the day.  I'm glad our parents never had to worry about anything like that.

Cheri is still on the go all day, shopping in the mornings and running errands for her family during the day.  Her Mom is beginning to get a little absent minded so Cheri tries to run her around for whatever she needs.  I have no idea what keeps her going.  John

School started already? I thought that was in September, no? Wow.

I can tell the weeds are changing here. Near Sept something changes them and they affect my allergies something awful.

The temperatures shot back up into the 90s.  91 yesterday and 95 today.  Makes it pretty miserable outside.

Karly's brother started school a few days before she did.  Her first day, she hated it.  It was a new school and she didn't know anybody, and never wanted to go back.  Her second day she loved it and wished she could go every day.  Cheri does an amazing job of keeping her in new clothes and they were a big hit.

Cheri's not feeling very good today.  Something in her neck hurts and her feet are badly swollen.  No idea what's going on.  Her heart seems OK.  She considered seeing a doctor but nobody feels like spending hours in an emergency room.

The grandson is at work and Cheri generally takes care of the dog while he's gone.  She took him out a little while ago.  He sat down in the grass, then suddenly heard him yelping.  Apparently he sat down on a big red wasp.  He seems OK now but he's more careful about how he sits down.  I've been stung by one of those things.  It seemed to bother me more than it does him.  John

With swollen feet, that is not good. Tell her I said to go to the doctor. Or perhaps your insurance has telehealth and she can get basic info that way?

Poor dog! I hate being stung! Thankfully it has not happened in over 20 years. A wasp and hornet can hurt but I'll live. Honey bee, I am allergic, so would be in a lot of trouble.

It has been nice temp-wise here, though a but lower than it should be. Today will be 88 and then 66 tomorrow, 79 thursday and back to 88 for Friday. I won't complain about it. :)

I know swollen legs and feet are often a sign of congestive heart failure, but her heart has always been good and strong and steady.  Last time she had the problem they gave her diuretics, which apparently helped.  All seems better today, though not back to normal.

I've been wasp stung twice, one by a "yellowjacket" who crawled up my pants and got me on the knee.  The second was one of those big, red ones, who somehow got caught under my watch band.  Both hurt for days and temporarily left little bead sized craters in my skin.  I was told to try a baking soda paste on the second one.  That was a waste of time and baking soda.  The dog seems to have forgotten all about it.

Back in the 90s today.  A couple more days of that.  It's supposed to rain a bit tonight.  I heard thunder a couple hours ago but no rain so far.  John
