Human Loss

I know Peggy knows a little about this.  I lost a human friend yesterday.  I heard about it first thing this morning as I was getting coffee.  Keith was a friend of mine who visited my brother down here from Nebraska and loved it so much here at the Lake Of The Ozarks, he moved down here.  He'd been here now for several years.  He was 5 years younger than me.

Keith was an avid fisherman so of course, the Lake was the place to be.  I temporarily lost touch with him a few weeks ago when he dropped his cellphone in the water.  Fishing was his favorite pastime by far.  Second to that, he was an avid chess player, and we played a few online games together.  He even beat me once.  I visited his online games about every day to see how he played and how he was doing.  His last game was about 3 days ago.  I know I'll go back and revisit those games and play through them.  They're saved online forever now.

There was one thing he loved more than fishing or chess, his dog Marly.  Marly is at my brother's now and if she doesn't stay there, she'll stay with one of my brother's kids.

It's been a weird day.  I haven't accomplished anything except feeding the furkids.  I can't concentrate on anything.  Tomorrow I have to play down on the Lake and it's just going to be strange.  John

John, I am truly so sorry to hear about the loss of your good friend. It's wonderful that you have so many good memories of him and all of those chess games. Peggy

Thank you Peggy.  I played on the Lake tonight and of course, it was on my mind all the time.  John

John, of course it would. And I'm sure every time you play down there he will be on your mind each time. Peggy

John, I am truly sorry for the loss of your friend. :(

May I ask if it is known what happened?

I am glad your brother too Marly in. That was kind and nice.
