Hey Tim, any updates on Tucson?  Hope she's doing great.

Last week I played my last outdoor job of the year.  We played a place on the Missouri river with the rustic name of "Stump Island", although it was not an island and I didn't see any stumps.  It got a little chilly, although not as bad as I expected.  About an hour away.

Tonight I played on the east side of Kansas City.  It was indoors which helped, but it was an unexpectedly warm 89 degrees.  An hour and a half away it seems like such a long drive now, and the trip back seemed even longer.  We stopped at midnight so it was about 2:30 when I got home.  The last thing I feel like doing when I get home is feeding the animals but it's the first thing I always do.

The 2 outdoor cats are going to get me in trouble, if not with the city, then with Cheri.  I don't really blame her not wanting to get a colony started here, and the city would soon be all over me anyway.  I don't know what to do but feed the little guys anyway.  John

Hi John Tuscon is fine a real wild child I will take him to get neutered next week and hopefully he will settle down some but him and Allie do have fun playing even though Allie is now 6 years old. Hi Peggy and David also hope you are okay and sorry for your marital problem David I don't really know what to say that would help. Tim

Can you live trap them and have them fixed and then let go there again? THat may help stop a colony.

Great to hear about Tucson, and great to hear he's getting along so well.

Back when I had the 15 outdoor cats, I was taking them in to a spay/neuter clinic so often, they actually started giving me a discount!  It got hard to keep track and one guy I accidentally took to the clinic twice.  The lady noticed right away that he'd already been fixed, but not before she'd anesthetized him.  I felt so bad for making him go there twice.  Only on 2 occasions did any of my colony have kittens, and sadly almost none of them survived.  Cats can make wonderful mothers, but they can make pretty rotten mothers too.  Then there were accidents that took a number of them and I'll never get over those.

Almost none of my colony was born there.  I'd almost swear they'd go off and tell other cats where all the free food was, as new ones kept showing up.  I only knew the history behind a couple of them from my neighbors.  At first they were mad at me, thinking I was stealing their cats, (2 of them) but when they realized I was just feeding them, I was a hero.  Neither of the cats I feed here look like they're starving, but only the one seems to hang around here consistently.  Today he was the only one here waiting to be fed, which was a bit of a relief.  John
