Halloween

Another Halloween has come and gone.  I'm usually too sentimental about holidays, especially Christmas.  Not sure why unless it's because those were some of the best times of my childhood.  I decorate for Halloween all through October and for Christmas all through December.

This year was different though.  Cheri doesn't really like decorations much unless they're outside, so I only set a couple of things out this year, especially since the kids weren't here.  This was the first time we've not taken the kids trunk-or-treating.  Their Dad took them.  Was disappointing not taking them after so many years of doing it.  They did stop here on their way out and I got a couple of pictures.  We had the porch light on and a big bowl of candy, but in this part of town we weren't really expecting anybody, and nobody came by.  We didn't even catch the classic Halloween movies on television, "Frankenstein", "Dracula", etc.  But we did see the all night "Bewitched" marathon.

To be sure, I've already played 2 Halloween parties and even though Halloween is over, I have to play another one Saturday.  This year didn't feel anything like Halloween though.  All that's left now is to eat all the leftover candy.  John

There is a house across the road that already has a Christmas tree up! Talk about not waiting. Laugh

No one came around here for Halloween.

A few days later there are still Halloween decorations up but I haven't seen any Christmas stuff up yet.  Of course, the stores are full of Christmas stuff but I kind of understand that.  If I decorate through December, that means if I want to buy anything, I need to do it in November.  John

The stores here have been filled with Christmas things for almost a month now. It seems silly in a way, like they skipped Thanksgiving totally.

That's a curiosity to me too.  I'd decorate for Thanksgiving but there's not much outside of turkeys and pilgrim cutouts.  John
