It is snowing today. My car was covere at 3:45 when I went to the gym. Weather claims we are expecting 3 to 6 more inches today (there is already an inch or 2 on the ground).

I looked at the webcam today and there wasn't much to see but white.  I figured it was either snowing, smoking or foggy.

Here, it's windy and about 62.  Expecting rain tonight.

I'm so tired of this yo-yo weather.  80 degrees one day, freezing the next, then 70, then freezing again.  Tonight it's 28 and tomorrow will be 56.  I need to mow the yard but the wind is so cold I really don't want to.

A few days ago I had to have my sewer lines drilled out.  Full of tree roots.  There was money I didn't want to spend.  I snaked it out a few weeks ago and pulled out a bunch of tree roots, but even at 100 feet, it wasn't enough.  The roots were well beyond 100 feet.  Problem solved...for now.  John

THe weather had been jumping back and forth. THe other weekend I decided to mow the tall brush at the old house because it was 70 on friday, but it was cold while I was doing it and then started to snow on me. *shrug*

How often do you need to deal with tree roots in the line?

I've been here 15 years and this is the first time I've had tree root problems.  I suspect that now that they've broken in it will be a recurring problem, unless I pay to have the line replaced.  We just have the one, very large tree, maybe 100 feet from the line so it must be from that.  A few weeks ago I rented a 100 foot snake and drilled out some roots which seeemed to do it, but only 2 weeks later it was clogged up again.  I had no idea who to trust to deal with it so I ended up calling Roto-Rooter with some trepidation because I had no real idea what would need to be done or what it would cost.  In 15 or 20 minutes they were done and it cost me a fraction of what I was afraid of.

I was amazed to find they were open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.  Cheri got me up at 7:30 in the morning to tell me it was clogged again and by 8:30 they were out here working on it.  They're my go-to guys right now.  John

Long ago in the upper 1980s, I rented a house with friends in West Caldwell, NJ. It was an old home (lovely, I remember the lovely wood trim and steam heat and layout and old wooden stairs, too bad I did not appreciate it then). Anyway, the pipes backed up because of roots and the owner had to have them cleared also. I agree that once it happens, the openings are there and the tree will keep going for the moisture, so I agree, it will be a continuing problem. I also suspect that the roots grow fastest in the spring and summer.
