It's so weird that it's so cool where you are and so hot here. I guess we're looking at record highs, that are sure to lead to storms in a few days. I worry about leaving the furkids alone. I don't like leaving the air conditioner on while we're gone in case it malfunctions and catches fire. I worry about the ceiling fan for the same reason. Van Gogh would be fine but I don't know about Piggy. If it's in the 90s outside I suppose it could get over 100 inside.
I used to ride in the truck that pulls the trailer but no matter where we go, I have to drive 15 miles out of the way, switch vehicles, switch again when we get back and drive the other 15 miles back. Paul has also decided he likes to be where we're going 2 and a half hours before we play, which means I'd have an extra hour to just sit there and wait. So, I drive myself now. Last night was so far away I was going to hitch a ride with my bass player but he was bringing his wife so he had a carful. So, as usual, I drove myself.
Being much farther north than usual, we got extra good pay. Only a couple of people up there had ever heard of us. The owner figured everybody up there was probably down on the Lake, and it was awfully hot to get out, so we had a tiny crowd, which makes for a hard night. Even so, the owner liked us and to my shock, hired us back for September and December, the only 2 dates we still had open. Made no sense to me but I'll take the money. John
