Hey Tim! I might drive 2 or 3 miles to take Cheri out to eat a few times a week, but she does 95% of the shopping and driving around for her family, so I don't often have to shop. I do hate driving to where I play. Seems like it's almost always an hour to an hour and a half away, mostly on back roads I don't really know, and a lot of the time, like today, I had no real idea how to get there. I hate trying to find places in Kansas City. I can either watch the traffic or watch where I'm going. Too hard trying to do both.
I try never to order anything online unless I really have to. I had a credit card hacked once. I didn't lose anything but it was more than irritating. We still do on rare occasion but not unless we just can't find something. I'll go cat food hunting again, probably Monday.
I miss so many concerts because I'm always playing at the same time. The last one I saw was ZZ Top a couple years ago, because Cheri is a huge fan. Still, whenever I play the State Fair, (which I am 3 days this year) I can hear the big acts right across the street. I can't see them, which is kind of funny but I can hear them. Once in a great while they'll come over and watch us play. A few years back, 3 Doors Down's drummer came in and sat in with us. He had a hard time at first but then fell right into it. I have opened for a few bands, REO Speedwagon, Kentucky Headhunters and a few others and met the briefly that way. Opened once for Jackal, but they were a bunch of jerks. Even when they're nice, I hate opening for other bands. It's way more work and at the end it's all, hurry, hurry, hurry, to get your stuff out of the way. John
