Angel, food, fly

Last evening I gave Angel her bit of canned food and dry food. She usually gobbles the canned down. After putting the food down I walked off to do some work and I heard her let out a loud meow and I went to see how she was. She left her canned food and I spent a while looking for her. I was worried that I over heated the food (when it is from the refridgerator I heat it for 4 seconds and stir in a bit of water after to cool it). I finally found her looking out a window and I was worried it was hot and now she would not heat it fearing it. She followed me back to the kitchen and did gobble it down. Later I was on the couch and she can racing by, hopping around. There was a fly in the room! I think that got her attention when eating now. First time I saw a fly since I have been here and so first time she want after one while with me. She was darting and diving and jumping and finally got it. She did not eat it, but wounded it and then left it on the floor for dead. I disposed of it right away, but wanted to let her have her fun was why I did not go after it when I saw it and her.

They do love chasing flies!  Every once in a while we have a fly population explosion, and I have no idea why.  I don't let garbage stay in the house and I have no idea where they come from.  Van Gogh loves chasing flies but from what I've seen, they're perfectly safe.

I just let the canned food sit at room temperature.  Van Gogh likes the stuff with extra gravy but it's hard to find and yesterday I ran out.  I've looked all over 2 Wal-Marts and even the pet store, but didn't find any.  Tonight she let me know she was not happy about it.  John

Perhaps chewy.com has the food you are looking for? They get it to you in 2 days usually.

Hello David John and Peggy All is well here Occasionally a fly will get in here Tuscon makes sure they know it was a mistake to come in here as he will dispatch them quicklyand he does usually eat them which makes me nervous. He doesn't like can food he want eat it at all. I had been buying my cat food locally but the stopped carrying the dry food I bought Wellness Core grain free and I also feed Wellness can food I started using Farmina dry but they didn't care as much for it and Horatio's and Noah's coats looked bad. So I went to Chewy and started autoship of my Wellness Core dry and will buy my can and World's Best multicat litter which they always had to order for me so I had to drive twice to get it from there now I have got to where I hate driving so much anyway and it was a 15 mile drive for me which is torture I know that is nothing for you John and David but lucky Peggy doesn't drive since her car broke down. The last concert I went to in January 2025 was only about a 10 mile trip but parking was impossible to find so I used Lyft ride sharing and that worked good for me. I will drive for groceries and to the Post Office to mail bills as thieves steal them from the mailboxes in my neighborhood the homeless camps are nearby I have 2 vehicles and 1 is garaged so they do not know I not home most of the time because I drive the garaged truck and the post office and grocery is only 5 miles or less round trip. Anyway you all Take Care Tim

Hey Tim!  I might drive 2 or 3 miles to take Cheri out to eat a few times a week, but she does 95% of the shopping and driving around for her family, so I don't often have to shop.  I do hate driving to where I play.  Seems like it's almost always an hour to an hour and a half away, mostly on back roads I don't really know, and a lot of the time, like today, I had no real idea how to get there.  I hate trying to find places in Kansas City.  I can either watch the traffic or watch where I'm going.  Too hard trying to do both.

I try never to order anything online unless I really have to.  I had a credit card hacked once.  I didn't lose anything but it was more than irritating.  We still do on rare occasion but not unless we just can't find something.  I'll go cat food hunting again, probably Monday.

I miss so many concerts because I'm always playing at the same time.  The last one I saw was ZZ Top a couple years ago, because Cheri is a huge fan.  Still, whenever I play the State Fair, (which I am 3 days this year) I can hear the big acts right across the street.  I can't see them, which is kind of funny but I can hear them.  Once in a great while they'll come over and watch us play.  A few years back, 3 Doors Down's drummer came in and sat in with us.  He had a hard time at first but then fell right into it.  I have opened for a few bands, REO Speedwagon, Kentucky Headhunters and a few others and met the briefly that way.  Opened once for Jackal, but they were a bunch of jerks.  Even when they're nice, I hate opening for other bands.  It's way more work and at the end it's all, hurry, hurry, hurry, to get your stuff out of the way.  John

Smash mouth is playing at the Montana State fair in Great Falls (it MAY have been last night). I would have loved to have gone, but no want to go alone.
