We had a short thunderstorm tonight.  Lots of rain and lightning but no wind.  We're expecting more of the same Thursday, and Friday they're warning of serious storms that may include lots of wind, rain, hail and possibly tornadoes.  Thankfully, I'm off till Tuesday.  John

That may not be good, stay safe.

It was raining here this morning when I went to the gym (I think I left at 3:35am). "Heavy" rain is not a think out here, so it was really a light rain, but it was doing it for a couple hours.

It's been about 15 years, but I was at work at the computer shop one day, a perfectly nice day, when Cheri called me saying that she was in the closet because there was a tornado, (this was about 45 minutes away).  So I hopped in the car and drove home, running into a ferocious thunderstorm on the way.  By the time I got home, it was clear and sunny.  About 2 blocks west, the tornado, (evidently a small one) had ripped the roof off a church, and a few blocks north it had uprooted a few big trees.

Here at the house, it had ripped open the front storm door, and completely blew off several window shutters.  There were canceled checks scattered around the back yard.  (Not ours.)  Our garbage can was completely gone, although the tornado had thoughtfully replaced it with a newer one.

Sedalia is something of a tornado magnet.  2 very strong tornadoes hit just before and after I moved here.  Both were on the west side, which they keep rebuilding and keep getting blown down.  Friday they're predicting strong storms and I'm right in the middle of it.  I'm probably not as worried about it as I should be, and since I don't worry too much about it, the animals seem to think, if the human is OK, I'm OK.  John

Hopefully you do not get a bad storm.

I'd be fine with thick fog, and we have had some lately.  Is there still snow up in the northeast?  Id doesn't look like David has any.

Last night I watched the storms and tornadoes rolling out of northeast Texas and into Oklahoma and Kansas, but it stopped short of me.  Today they've predicted dangerous storms but now they're saying nothing should happen before 2:00 AM.  We got a little rain this morning but nothing this afternoon.  According to the radar, any storms happening right now are northwest of me and sliding to the northeast.  It's unusually warm for this time of year at 74, which would be nice except that unusually warm weather often means bad storms.  So far though, it's just been a nice day.  John
