At least I'm not getting any snow or ice but my furnace keeps kicking on and I'm really tired of it being cold.  I was cold when I went to bed last night but I just let the furnace do its thing.  John

I wonder if the snow is coming from here. We had snow Friday - Saturday and flurries SUnday and it melted off pretty quick. Not much by the house, town received more than home. This morning there was a dusting on the ground as I left and then it started to drizzle on it, so that will melt it off pretty fast.

I did not bring my monthly donation of supplies and food to the homeless shelter here in MArch and I am feeling rather guilty on that now. I may have to courage up and do the March and April run for their food/supplies this weekend.

I thought about this season, I bet this is the first time so many people had to give up Lent and Easter for Lent. ;)

David, right before this got real serious, I did a lot of shopping and really stocked up.  I go maybe once a week to pick up bread and salad makings.  The grocery stores are doing a great job keeping everyone spaced with tapings on the floor and everyone is cooperating.  I don't "dilly dally" and get my stuff and get the heck out of there. And of course I wear a mask.  So many people are using those home delivery options that it's taking quite some time with many issues to get their supplies.  But then you must consider the huge population they are dealing with here.  My good friend and neighbor downstairs who is a person with a disability does Jenny Craig and they are only open for curb side weekly food pick up so I do that for her on Tuesdays.  Look forward to as it gets me out of the house.

Oh, and it's snowing.  Less than an inch.  Lots of accidents all over as the roads are so slick.  No balcony sitting today!

There are still less than 4000 cases in Missouri.  There was apparently a mistake in the news the day before yesterday.  There are still only 3 cases in my county.  The grandkids ended up here for about a week now due to circumstances beyond anybody's control but they're going back today.  There were no reported cases at all in the county they came from

Cheri donated some candy to the local nursing home and it doesn't seem to be much of a problem here because nobody but nobody is allowed to visit.

I talked to a guy in Juneau Alaska last night who told me his weather and it was colder here!  The yard needs seriously mowed again but it's just been too cold and rainy to do it.  John

Hi Peggy,

Are you going out to get food and supplies or can you order them all to your home in your area?

Peggy here checking in from Schaumburg/Chicago.  Spent Easter all by myself with Laila.  I had some frozen leftovers from my corned beef and cabbage on St. Pat's Day so that's what I had.  The highlight of the day was sitting out on my balcony.  Fresh air felt wonderful!  Surprised at the car movement in the parking lots.  Think a lot of people were disobeying the stay at home orders and went to be with family.

That must be very worrisome about your mom, David!  Sounds like NJ has been hit pretty hard.

My zip code has 8 confirmed cases.  In Illinois, 22,025 confirmed cases and 794 deaths.

Take care, guys, stay healthy and safe!
