Interesting start to the day. Van Gogh always goes to bed with me and sleeps right in my face, but she's usually gone when I wake up. I'm sure she got up during the night to prowl the house, which she always does. This morning I woke up and she was right back in my face. (I got up a little later than usual.) She did not want me to get up and held onto my arm. First thing in the morning though, I need to "answer the call of nature", so much as I hated to, I pulled away and swung my legs over the bed, whereupon she climbed right up and laid in my lap, which she never does. Finally she moved away and I got up.
I'd been up maybe an hour and Cheri was gone, no doubt shopping. Finally she and Karly walked in with what looked like a cake box, or possibly a box of doughnuts. No, she showed me a box of one of the most beautiful wood chess sets I'd ever seen, huge pieces, with a 6 inch King! She got it at a yard sale for $8. She asked if it was OK if she unwrapped all the pieces to see how they looked before she bought it, and they didn't mind. All 32 pieces had been individually wrapped. They were all there and all perfect. In fact it perfectly matches the new chess board she got me just a few weeks ago. I haven't played yet tonight so I haven't set it up yet. When I do, I'll be back to brag about it. (Or whine about it, depending on how it goes.) John
