Van Gogh likes to sleep at the base of my pillow, which is where she almost always is when I'm ready for bed.  It used to be that getting her to move for me used to be just a little dangerous.  She did not want to move.  She'd start slashing and biting and hissing, and the only way to move her was to slowly pull the blanket over her.  She doesn't like that either and would angrily move out of the way, but she's finally figured out how it works.  Now when I come to bed, she calmly gets up and walks onto an endtable, sits and waits for me to get settled.  Once I'm in place she'll either move down to my knees or curl up in my face.  Makes going to bed far less dangerous, and there's always a nice warm spot about where my shoulders are.

Tonight is perfect weather for staying indoors.  Just a bit cool, very foggy with a light, constant rain.  Of course, it can't be too comfortable for Taylor.  She apparently finds a nice, dry place, because she won't come out in the rain.  I check for her several times a day and always a little after midnight and most of the time around 3:00 AM.  It was foggy much of the day and she didn't mind that but tonight, she didn't come out.  If she's not around, I don't leave food out because I don't need to get other animals started looking for it to be there.  I hate for Taylor to go hungry but it'll never be for long, and she might rather stay dry than eat sometimes.  John

And who says cats cannot learn? ;)

I could not sleep with a cat on my face (laugh) but Angel likes to lay on my belly or legs. She will go to her heated cup, then back to my legs all night.

It used to drive me crazy that Van Gogh would always try to lick my nose when I went to bed.  She finally stopped doing that.  Sometimes she'll put her head against my forehead but usually she just lays a few inches away.  I don't think I could breathe if she got any closer.  She'll usually puts her paws up against my chest and sometimes she'll put one in my beard.  I often wake up to find her gone.  She gets up without waking me up somehow.  Occasionally but not always I'll get up in the morning with her laying next to me.  Van Gogh is hardly affectionate at all but every night she lets me know I'm acceptable.  John
