Wow, it's been one busy week.  The night before Thanksgiving I had to play, then there was Thanksgiving with Cheri's family.  Friday was the trip to the mall.  Saturday I played in Kansas City.  Sunday and Monday were welcome days off.  Tuesday was another out of town day at the bank, shopping, and dinner out, then decorating the tree and wrapping presents.  Tonight I was surprised by a school show that Karly was singing in.  There was a long, long walk from where we had to park and it was really cold.  Then out to Dairy Queen for treats.

With all this going on, my normal routines are all messed up.  I'm not getting in any exercise and the only chores getting done are feeding the furkids.  The kids had been out of school since the day before Thanksgiving, and had Monday off because of the weather.  That slows things down a little.  Tonight I'll probably get an hour of so of sleep because Cheri won't feel like getting the kids up for school and getting out in the serious cold we expect in the morning.  That'll throw my day off but if I can get back to sleep, maybe I can get back to routine and the world will be spinning on greased grooves.  (I couldn't resist quoting John Steinbeck there.)  John

Dairy Queen on a cold night? ??

You can add exercise. Lift the spoon with a weight in your hand. ;)

How cold is it there right now? I heard it was like 20 below in Wisconsin this morning.

Oh, I thought you woujld like this. The pattern to get a knight to visit EVERY square once. https://1drv.ms/v/c/db43558b1c662543/EWxI4L4AhedPt4eih-9SWqYBj9MUkTQdFPdJDvYpgxWq6w?e=WlQTki

Don't worry about the link, it is to my MS Once Drive where I saved the video. :)

I actually counted the Knight moves.  64, one for each square.  I noticed a weird star-like pattern in each corner.  I'm sure if I were to try it, I'd end up hitting a lot of the same squares multiple times.

The car said it was 17 degrees when we went to Dairy Queen last night.  There were several of Karly's classmates there, while most went to McDonald's, and I just didn't think I could handle that.  Oddly, all I had to eat yesterday was a small DQ sundae and a piece of pumpkin pie.  Just never got hungry.

As I suspected, last night I was in bed about 2 hours before I had to get up and get the kids to school.  The bus stops for one but we have to drive in the other.  It was about 15 degrees when I started the car.  When I got back, I stayed up another hour then went back to bed.

The messed up schedules have also meant I've been ignoring the chess lately.  I'm currently at a horrific 6 losses in a row, and lost a ton of Elo points.  My latest loss was to England.  Since I miss so many nights because I run out of time, I downloaded a chess program that I can play faster games on.  (I don't have to wait on anybody to move.)  It won't give or take away my rating but it tells me the rating I'm playing against.  Should take up for those nights I don't have time to wait on humans.  I could do the same thing on my phone but I prefer the big screen.  John

Another day away from the normal.  Somebody about 50 miles away had what Cheri wanted for Christmas so, off we went.  I was able to stop by the bank on the way.  It was not a "wise" purchase on my part, but it made her really happy.  Anyway, it meant another day away from home and dinner for 4 out again.

Tomorrow night I work way up north, fairly close to Iowa.  Probably won't get a lot of the normal stuff done tomorrow either.  John
